Who do I admire as a leader?

When I think of the best leaders, sports comes to mind again. If you can think of a successful team, it's likely that team has a strong leader in the coaching position or within the team itself. Never has a successful team had a lack of leadership. Several different leaders come to mind, however, the best leader I can think of, and the one I admire the most is because this man has not only led a group well, but been able to create leaders within his organization that further cement the groups identity, and responsibilities. The strongest leaders also do the work, they lead by example and they foster a culture of leadership. The leader I admire most is someone who sticks to the principles that have been laid out, a compelles the others to do the same. Through good times and bad times, this leader continues to stay with the plan, continues to develop the culture. Who am I as a leader?

I am very proud of my leadership qualities. Even though I am only 21 years old, I have some really great experience in leadership across several different platforms. I think what distinguishes my style as a leader is the perspective I take on leadership. As a leader, I am someone who not only leads by example, but in order to lead, I need to "get my hands dirty". I need to be in the mix, solving problems, working with the group. My leadership qualities were cultivated during my sophomore year at Saint Michael's College when I was put into the role of team captain. I had to lead from an underclassman position in a very hierarchical team setting. In my field of work, where I train soccer players from 8 years old to 18 years old, I take a leadership role in designing training plans and programs.
