Bright Spots

While I have not spent any time in a classroom as an educator, my experience in classrooms as a student have not been largely impacted by technology. However, one form of tech that I remember most from my time in middle school was smart boards. Probably out of date now, but the use of a smartboard was great in several different subjects. The class I remember it best being used was in my french class. Students would come up in front of the class and be able to conjugate verbs, do translations, etc. The use of a smart board was quick and efficient for correcting verbs and translations was quick and the notes on why a certain verb or sentance needed a correction could then be sent out to us all after class. The schools i've attended never really used much technology, however the smart board was always a fun thing to use and a great tool to learn with. I hope in the future, my old middle and elementary schools can embrace the technological changes. I feel that I might be a bit behind...

Who do I admire as a leader?

When I think of the best leaders, sports comes to mind again. If you can think of a successful team, it's likely that team has a strong leader in the coaching position or within the team itself. Never has a successful team had a lack of leadership. Several different leaders come to mind, however, the best leader I can think of, and the one I admire the most is because this man has not only led a group well, but been able to create leaders within his organization that further cement the groups identity, and responsibilities. The leader I admire most is someone who sticks to the principles that have been laid out, a compelles the others to do the same. Through good times and bad times, this leader continues to stay with the plan, continues to develop the culture. Personally, I admire this person as a leader because of their selfless nature and their ability to look out for others, ...

Who am I as a leader?

I am very proud of my leadership qualities. Even though I am only 21 years old, I have some really great experience in leadership across several different platforms. I think what distinguishes my style as a leader is the perspective I take on leadership. As a leader, I am someone who not only leads by example, but in order to lead, I need to "get my hands dirty". I need to be in the mix, solving problems, working with the group. My leadership qualities were cultivated during my sophomore year at Saint Michael's College when I was put into the role of team captain. I had to lead from an underclassman position in a very hierarchical team setting. In my field of work, where I train soccer players from 8 years old to 18 years old, I take a leadership role in designing training plans and programs. Often, I take the lead coaching role over men and women who have been in the industry for 20-30 years. I find some qualities that make me a good leader are the ability to make ...
